What do these two things have in common...nothing really.
Went to see Bruce Springsteen on Monday night. He was awesome as usual. I have seen him twice before - and he never fails to disappoint. I love going to concerts. I am not sure if I said this in my Police concert updates, but going to a concert is kind of like going to church for me. (Yes, blasphemous!!) You have a large group of people congregated on one place, for one purpose - I want to say the Religion of Rock n' Roll - but that sounds hokey. I think that is where these two different experiences are the same - people are gathered for a period of time and are all sharing the same moment. Anyway...maybe it's just me. My favourite part of any concert is the moment where the band stops playing and singing and lets the audience take over. When that many people are all in sync - singing the same words at the same time - that's religion for me. That moment on Monday night was during the song 'She's the One' (one of my faves by the way). Overall, amazing concert. Thanks Dougie for winning tickets. (Concerts are always that much better when they are free.)
As for Amsterdam - that is where I am off to today. It's my first time going to Europe and oddly I am very anxious about it. Not really sure why. It's probably a bunch of things. I will be very happy to get on the plane and relax. Or be as relaxed as you can be stuffed like sardines for 7 hours. Once the anxiousness gone, I will be very excited to go.
The pic today is from the concert on Monday during the song 'Born to Run'. The lights came up and you could see everyone dancing and their hands pumping in the air to the line '...tramps like us, baby we were born to run.' I tell ya - a religious experience.
